MBF e Ferrari Carano

Ferrari Carano winery and vineyards from California.
CaranoTo many, California is a land of beaches, sun, and coastal cities. It is also a land of vineyards, great wines, and many small and large wine growers. It is here, in the quaint, Northern California town of Healdsburg, that Ferrari-Carano is situated. Founded in 1981 by husband and wife team of Don and Rhonda Carano, the couple had a shared passion for culinary excellence and fine wine. Over three decades later, the winery now produces a diverse portfolio of award-winning wines, including Fumé Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, and many others. The company’s vineyards stretch over 1500 acres and 19 estates, divided between several world-class growing regions: Alexander Valley, Russian River Valley, Dry Creek Valley, Napa, Carneros and Mendocino Ridge/Anderson Valley. The winery has two production facilities, two different winemaking teams, and growing success that is confirmed by widespread distribution throughout North America and much of the world.
Is it possible to exceed the expectations of a customer?
Sergio Ciocchetta, North America Area Manager for MBF, addresses this question while speaking about the long collaboration between MBF and Ferrari-Carano Vineyards and Winery, a growing California winery. Ciocchetta explains how the ability to handle customer challenges is fundamental in keeping or regaining a customer.
Superbloc® - Traceability, efficiency and flexibility
“In the United States, it’s very typical that the same team that takes care of the vineyards also operates the bottling line - notes Ciocchetta - these lines often work seasonally, not yearround. Increasing the bottling line speed frees up valuable time that can then be devoted to other things. For this reason, there is a large demand for high-speed lines that are simple to use and do not need highly specialized staff”. The Superbloc® meets all the above requirements: it is quiet and compact, offers high efficiency and total flexibility by integrating the rinser, filler, corker, capper, capsuler, and labeler into one machine. There is complete traceability with each and every bottle throughout each processing stage, ensuring constant control and the highest quality of the final bottled product. The Superbloc® also offers the great advantage of being easier to use and more efficient than a traditional line. All components of the Superbloc®
are driven by brushless motors and electronically synchronized, a feature that reduces energy consumption, maintenance costs, noise, and at the same time, greatly increases the accuracy of the machine. The main functions are combined into a single control panel, while specific features are directly accessible from local control panels available on each machine. Security guards ensure visibility and an easy access to every part of the machine. The compact design reduces the space needed as well as the number of operators on the entire line.
“In December of 2013, we completed the Superbloc® installation at Ferrari-Carano. It will replace the Monoblock in the main winery, sending that machine to be used at Ferrari-Carano’s second production facility - explains Ciocchetta - the first bottling was scheduled for January 19, 2014. Owner Don Carano can often be heard telling how a great wine begins in the vineyard. At MBF, we know and respect how much effort our customers put into the grapes and the entire production cycle. For this reason, we produce machines that do not change the sensory characteristics of the product. We understand that wine is a living product, and our machines are created to treat it as such”.
